Affiliate Challenge Site - January Stats
Following on from my previous post, I thought I’d post some stats from January. Seeing as the purpose of this challenge is to show people how easy (or dificult!) it is to get started in affiliate marketing, I imagine people will want to see what sort of return I’m getting so here you go…
Total revenue in Jan: £39.70 - this was from 3 sales and a bit of adsense
Total Unique visitors in January: 239
Page views in Jan: 1460
Visits from Organic Search: 64
From Message Board Posts: 28
Vists from Myspace: 91

I was quite pleased with this as I haven’t spent any money on marketing at all so wasn’t expecting any revenue this month, everything has come from the SEO, myspace and a little bit off message board posting I’ve done.

I’m nearly ready to launch the festival ticket guide and have already had 70 preview signups which is also good. One thing I’m not doing as much is blogging about the site which was what I really wanted to do. This months aims are to start some cpc on the higher value items (using Mark’s adword tool of course!). I have no idea how this will go but looking at some product specific search terms I think with enough work I should get a good return. I also want to finish off the festival ticket guide, get a few press releases out and get 1000+ subscribers before the end of feb, then start on the email marketing. I will of course keep you updated! I also plan to blog more about the techniques and tools I’ve used which will hopefully help people who want to get started in this game!
